On Thursday, February 8, 2024, the Contemporary Art Hall of the Golesti Museum will host an art exhibition titled “Intuition,” featuring the works of the artist Dana Ciuc. She was born on October 8, 1976, in Bucharest. At the age of 5, she moved with her family to Pitesti, where she completed her primary and high school education at Zinca Golescu High School. At the age of 19, she returned to Bucharest to study psychology. In 2001, she graduated from the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology at Spiru Haret University. Currently, she works as a psychologist at the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection – Ilfov.

Her attraction to art dates back to her childhood. As she herself confessed, art is a form of psychotherapy: “I use painting as a psychotherapeutic technique that facilitates the expression of thoughts and emotions. Art allows us to understand emotions for which we often cannot find the right words.” The artist started painting and exhibiting three years ago, stating that she is a self-taught artist and dedicates daily time to painting. Her first exhibition took place in 2021 at El Deco Gallery in Bucharest, followed by several others at Simeza Galleries, Plantobar Studio, and Căminul Artei, all in Bucharest.

Intuition is the foundation of her artistic works: “In most of my paintings, I use intuition or inner voice, thus managing to connect with subconscious mental processes.” The Golesti exhibition represents an intuitive journey through the author’s emotional time and space. Demons and angels subtly find their way from the subconscious world to the external world. The works are fascinating and worth seeing. They will be displayed on the walls of the Contemporary Art Hall of the Golesti Museum until April 14, 2024.

As part of the exhibition, a work by Dana Ciuc’s guest artist, Marius Burhan, will also be showcased. We look forward to welcoming you!
