105 years ago, with the spring, the history of the people entered a course of fundamental events, which culminated in the reunification of the country. The first milestone of this road was the Union of Bessarabia with Romania on March 27, 1918.
Since 1917, after the collapse of the Russian Empire, Bessarabia has become a territory full of tensions and instability, due to the political and diplomatic pressure of the neighboring powers, as well as internal pressure. In this tense climate, the Council of the Country decided, by vote, the union of Bessarabia with the Motherland from which it had been separated in 1812.
This union was one of the most important events in the history of modern Romania, which fundamentally changed the geopolitical configuration of the region and represented a remarkable achievement for the Romanian nation at that time.
This first-rate historical moment, due to its importance for the development of the country and for the affirmation of the Romanian nation, was marked at the Golești Museum through an emotional event, in which members of the “Mihai Viteazul” Veterans Choir, from the Pitești Military Circle, were our specials guests. The activity began by marking the main historical stages of the this territory. Then followed the artistic moments featured by our special guests.
The union of Bessarabia with the motherland remains a significant event for our national and historical values, and the Golești Museum is honored to host such an emotional evocation.
