Cazanul de \u0163uic\u0103, cu una, dou\u0103 sau trei \u0163evi, era a\u015fezat pe o vatr\u0103 din p\u0103m\u00e2nt \u015fi c\u0103r\u0103mid\u0103, iar r\u0103citorul era, de regul\u0103, un vas de lemn, de forma unei putini.<\/p>\n<p>Povarna este construit\u0103 din b\u00e2rne masive de lemn de stejar, cu un plan dreptunghiular dezvoltat pe lungime, cu intrarea prev\u0103zut\u0103 cu u\u015fi duble, \u015fi mici luminatoare decupate \u00een b\u00e2rne. Nu prezint\u0103 co\u015f de evacuare a fumului, acesta ie\u015find prin coama acoperi\u015fului.<\/p>\n<p>\u00cen jurul povernei existau butii de dimensiuni mari, pe care se urca cu scara, \u00een care erau puse fructele la fermentat. Instala\u0163ia de distilat era folosit\u0103 de tot satul, povernele fiind destul de rare, datorit\u0103 costurilor mari ale cazanului \u015fi \u0163evilor de r\u0103cire din aram\u0103 (cupru). Proprietarul, de regul\u0103 boierul sau un \u0163\u0103ran \u00eenst\u0103rit, percepea o tax\u0103 de folosire a povernei.<\/p>\n<p>Toamna t\u00e2rziu, c\u00e2nd \u00eencepea fabricatul \u0163uicii, \u00een jurul povernei afumate \u00eencepeau s\u0103 roiasc\u0103 \u0163\u0103ranii, cu c\u0103ru\u0163ele cu butii de borhot.
