On Monday, August 7th, 2023, the exhibition of the painter Alina Vuxanovici, entitled “SACRED JOURNEY,” will be opened at the Contemporary Art Hall of the Gole\u0219ti Museum.<\/span><\/p>\n Alina Vuxanovici was born on July 20, 1980, in Bucharest. She completed her primary and secondary education in Bucharest and then attended the National College “Gheorghe \u0218incai.” She studied Iconography at the Bucharest School of Art and graduated from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Bucharest in 2006. Currently, she is a student at the National University of Arts Bucharest, majoring in Conservation and Restoration. Her parents and grandparents passed on their love for art, stories, history, and folklore. This solid foundation of art-oriented values shaped Alina Vuxanovici’s artistic path.<\/span><\/p>\n The artist spent a long period working in advertising, but after 11 years, she returned to what she felt represented her the most \u2013 fine arts. Although she enjoys experimenting with various media and supports, her primary areas of interest are oil, acrylic, and tempera painting, as well as experimental photography, particularly cyanotype.<\/span><\/p>\n Calligraphy is another art form that she practices with great love, as it bridges painting and writing. She has participated in several national and international group and solo exhibitions, including “Lights and Shadows,” her debut at the AAPB, “Echoes of the Mind” at the FormArt gallery in Bucharest, and “Annual Exhibition of Religious Art and Restoration” at the Village Museum in Bucharest. Her works have been exhibited in Spain, Bulgaria, Argentina, Turkey, and in almost all major cities in Romania.<\/span><\/p>\n “Sacred Journey” is an exhibition with a religious theme that blends the timeless beauty of Byzantine art with the expressiveness and freedom of the oil-on-canvas approach. It represents a metaphysical journey into the deepest aspects of spirituality, placing the soul at the heart of the artwork.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>The Byzantine technique, renowned for its sublime simplicity and vibrant use of colors, bestows a sacred aura upon the artworks, drawing our gaze into a realm where time seems to be suspended. Inspired by the tradition of religious art from antiquity, each Byzantine work portrays sacred moments and biblical scenes, creating a solemn and transcendent atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n In contrast, the oil-on-canvas works bring a contemporary dimension to the exhibition, expressed through the artist’s emotions and feelings.
