The Gole\u0219ti Museum of Viticulture and Fruit Growing has the great pleasure of participating, in partnership with the \u201c\u0218tefan cel Mare\u201d County Museum of Vaslui, in the organization of an exhibition dedicated to the traditional Romanian costume, in the spirit of one of the most beloved holidays of folk culture \u2013 S\u00e2nzienele.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, the Vaslui public is invited to discover our collection of authentic folk costumes, in an event that brings to the fore the richness and refinement of the Romanian ia. We consider that ia is not just a garment, but a living testimony of our cultural identity, a creation loaded with symbols, craftsmanship and emotion transmitted over generations.<\/p>\n
The \u201cTraditional Romanian Ia\u201d exhibition brings together representative pieces from the great ethnographic areas of the country, meticulously crafted from traditional fabrics such as borangicul with metallic thread, linen, hemp or wool. Each scarf, belt, scarf or hat is a story in itself \u2013 a window into the world of the Romanian village, with its values, traditions and timeless beauty. The ethnographic areas represented in this exhibition are: Arge\u0219 and Mu\u0219cel, Buz\u0103u, V\u00e2lcea, C\u00e2mpia Boianului, Gorj, Mehedin\u021bi, Bran, Rupea, Alba, Arad, Timi\u0219, Bistri\u021ba N\u0103s\u0103ud, Maramure\u0219.<\/p>\n
Along with the garments, we bring to the public textile objects that completed the daily universe of the Romanian peasant \u2013 laicere, paretare and \u015ftergare \u2013 all part of a dowry that goes beyond the boundaries of the material and becomes a spiritual heritage.<\/p>\n
We are also pleased that the opening will be accompanied by a demonstration by the craftsmen from the “\u015eez\u0103toarea vasluian\u0103”, who will reconstruct the stages of making the ia, offering visitors an authentic perspective on the deep connection between man and his traditional costume.<\/p>\n
Through this exhibition, the Gole\u0219ti Museum reaffirms its mission to valorize and promote the Romanian cultural heritage, contributing to keeping alive the traditions that define us.<\/p>\n
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in the “Art” Hall of the “\u0218tefan cel Mare” Vaslui County Museum.<\/p>\n
