June 24th marks a special moment in the Romanian calendar. It is the day of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist in the Orthodox Church, and, in folk tradition, it is celebrated as the day of the S\u00e2nziene<\/em> \u2013 magical beings of summer, embodiments of beauty, love, and nature. It is a day filled with light, fertility, and hope. On this day, young women dressed in embroidered ie<\/em> blouses would wear flower crowns and join the village dance, dreaming of love and marriage.<\/p>\n

In this spirit, the Museum of Viticulture and Pomology in Gole\u0219ti invites you to step into a world of grace and emotion, through the opening of a special exhibition dedicated to the ie<\/em> worn on one of the happiest days in a woman’s life: her wedding day.<\/p>\n

Visitors will discover authentic bridal costumes from the museum\u2019s heritage collection \u2013 precious garments that tell the story of Romanian wedding customs, of rites of passage, and of joy shared by the whole community. The exhibition is enriched by paintings created within the International Painting Contest held at Gole\u0219ti, with works inspired by the traditional Romanian wedding.<\/p>\n

The ie<\/em>, proudly worn by the bride on her wedding day, becomes a silent witness to a sacred beginning \u2013 a path chosen in love and faith, woven together with ancestral symbols and meaning.<\/p>\n
