The exhibition \u201eNature Always Finds a Way\u201d, signed by artist Ramona \u0218lug and curated by Nicoleta Popa Grigore, opens on Monday, February 16, 2026, in the Contemporary Art Hall of the Gole\u0219ti Museum.<\/p>\n
A graduate of the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Ramona \u0218lug is a visual artist, curator, and art educator. A member of the Union of Fine Artists of Romania, she has participated in numerous exhibitions in Romania and abroad, working across various artistic media including painting, drawing, and object art. She lives and works in Bucharest and Curtea de Arge\u0219.<\/p>\n
Her recent practice explores the intersections of education, nature, heritage, and artistic expression.<\/p>\n
The exhibition *Nature Always Finds a Way* brings together a series of works created using different techniques \u2014 drawing, collage, and painting. Regarding this exhibition, art critic Gabriela Popescu states:<\/p>\n
\u201cRamona \u0218lug\u2019s current exhibition invites us to reflect on one of the most pressing and widely debated themes of contemporary culture: NATURE and its reflection in ART.<\/p>\n
We live in an era marked by rapid climate change, so drastic that affected species no longer have the necessary time to evolve in order to survive. We are told that the only hope lies in human intervention. In short, HUMANITY is responsible for the disaster LIFE on planet Earth is facing \u2014 yet the only possible salvation also depends on it.<\/p>\n
But is this truly the case? Ramona\u2019s exhibition, whose title adapts the well-known saying \u2018If there\u2019s a will, there\u2019s a way,\u2019 seeks to alert us \u2014 through the language of art \u2014 to another possible solution to this problem, one that, as a species, should perhaps alarm us.<\/p>\n
The resilience and inexhaustible inventiveness of nature form the conceptual starting point of this series of works, situated at the threshold between figuration and abstraction.<\/p>\n
These works began their \u2018life\u2019 as studies of easily identifiable vegetal structures (branches and roots, lichens, tree rings, leaves, veins, bark, etc.), intertwined, slipping among stones, dissected, projected against the sky, animated by an apparently endless imagination. Yet they did not remain confined to botanical precision. From the initial sketches \u2014 fragmented and recombined \u2014 new compositions gradually emerged, moving from collage to graphic works and then to painting, evolving from recognizable imagery toward abstraction through the reorganization of the landscape\u2019s fundamental elements. A wild, predominantly vegetal landscape, from which human presence and all its creations seem to have been deliberately removed.<\/p>\n
These works suggest that nature finds a way to endure, regardless of the obstacles placed in its path \u2014 recomposing, reorganizing everything again and again. For the most essential impulse of life, despite its fragility, is to perpetuate itself.<\/p>\n
And the primary impulse of art is to reinvent itself time and again, just like the nature it reflects, in order to overcome every obstacle.<\/p>\n
Thus, beyond its aesthetic dimension and its evident admiration for nature\u2019s ingenuity, this exhibition also serves as a profound and serious warning to today\u2019s generations: nature will always find a way to survive \u2014 but this may happen with or without us.\u201d<\/p>\n
The opening reception will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM, and the exhibition will remain on view until May 6, 2026.<\/p>\n
