On Saturday, 09.05.2026, the sculpture exhibition 7 Structures for the Questions of Being will be opened at the Gole\u015fti Museum, containing works by 7 contemporary Romanian sculptors. They will be mounted outdoors, in the space in front of the Contemporary Art Hall of the Gole\u015fti Museum.<\/p>\n
The artists present with works are: Ioan Ladea, Irina T\u0103nase, Mihai Tugearu, Alexandru Papuc, Alexandru Ranga Bumba\u015f, George T\u0103nase and George Bilan.<\/p>\n
The exhibition presents artists who are very different in their individual, authentic and unique creative process, but similar in their desire to probe in depth the human being with all its meanders, questions and anxieties. They all have a rich portfolio and university studies in art.<\/p>\n
Ioan Ladea was born in Bucharest on May 17, 1964. In 1982 he graduated from the Nicolae Tonitza Art High School in Bucharest, and in 1997 from the Nicolae Grigorescu National Academy of Art – Bucharest, sculpture department.<\/p>\n
He participated in 22 exhibitions, created 31 public works of monumental art and received 7 national awards.<\/p>\n
Irina T\u0103nase was born on May 8, 1998, in Bucharest. In 2017 he graduated from the Nicolae Tonitza Fine Arts High School in Bucharest, in 2020 from the National University of Arts Bucharest, Faculty of Fine Arts, Sculpture Department, Bachelor’s Studies, and in 2022 from the National University of Arts Bucharest, Faculty of Fine Arts, Sculpture Department, Master’s Studies.<\/p>\n
He participated in over 40 national and international exhibitions and carried out 3 projects with the Rivoli 59 Gallery in Paris.<\/p>\n
Mihai Tugearu was born on 23.11.1952, in the Commune of R\u00e2mnicu de Jos, Constan\u0163a County. He is a Member of the Union of Fine Artists of Romania, Sculpture Branch. He participated in several exhibitions in the country and abroad, and created 8 monumental religious works of art and countless monumental secular works of art.<\/p>\n
Alexandru Papuc was born on 26 October 1971, in Bucharest.<\/p>\n
He graduated from the National Academy of Arts – Bucharest, Sculpture Section, class of Professor Vasile Gorduz.<\/p>\n
He is a member of the Union of Fine Artists of Romania, Sculpture Section – Bucharest. He has had several personal exhibitions and participated in several group exhibitions. He created the following public art works: Cap de dac, Bucharest; Ecaterina Teodoroiu, Bucharest; Tudor Vladimirescu, Bucharest. He has received several national awards.<\/p>\n
Alexandru Ranga Bumba\u015f graduated from the Nicolae Tonitza High School of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Sculpture Department, in 2015.<\/p>\n
In 2018 he graduated from the National University of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Sculpture Department, and in 2020 he completed a Master’s degree at the National University of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Sculpture Department. He participated in over 30 exhibitions and received several national awards.<\/p>\n
George T\u0103nase was born on August 30, 1959 and passed away on August 13, 2024. He left an impressive body of work.<\/p>\n
In 1997 he graduated from the National University of Art in Bucharest, Sculpture Department;<\/p>\n
He debuted in 1997 at the Bucharest Art Exhibition. He participated in several exhibitions in the country and abroad, created 13 monumental works of art and won several national awards.<\/p>\n
George Bilan was born in Bucharest on April 7, 1971. He graduated from the Nicolae Tonitza Art High School in Bucharest in 1989 and then the National University of Arts – Bucharest, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, sculpture department. He is a member of the Union of Fine Artists of Romania, sculpture branch – Bucharest. He has participated in 50 personal and group exhibitions and has works in collections in the country and abroad (France, the Netherlands, the USA, Germany, Austria, Italy, Israel).<\/p>\n
About the exhibition in Gole\u015fti, art chronicler Gabriela T\u0103nase stated:<\/p>\n
The exhibition “7 structures for the questions of being” brings together seven volumetric works by George Bilan, Ioan Ladea, Alexandru Papuc, Alexandru Ranga, George T\u0103nase, Irina T\u0103nase and Mihai Tugearu.<\/p>\n
The seven sculptures are harmoniously articulated around the number 7, considered the number of perfection or the number of God, which can constitute a connector between man and the universe, symbolizing the transition from simple knowledge to wisdom.<\/p>\n
In a contemporary context marked by fragmentation and diversity, the exhibition “7 structures for the questions of being” proposes a meeting, in an open space, between seven distinct sculptural interventions which, although different in language, material and technique, are united by the same impulse: the exploration of essential questions related to the human condition and meaning.<\/p>\n
From the perspective of the concept of “multiplicity” formulated by Gilles Deleuze, unity does not precede diversity, but is constituted emergently, through the relations between differences. The seven structures generate, through juxtaposition, a dynamic field of meanings, a network that is activated in relation to the viewer, where the difference itself becomes a resource for the production of meaning.<\/p>\n
Together, the seven sculptures open a field of reflection in which matter acquires a concrete dimension mplative. The gap between the works becomes almost as significant as the form itself, configuring the image of the ensemble. The exhibition can also be seen as an exercise in inner ascension, both for the artist and the viewer. The number 7 functions as an operator of totality and limit, simultaneously marking a threshold and an opening: between the visible and the invisible, between the material and the imaginary.<\/p>\n
“7 Structures for the Questions of Being” thus configures a territory of encounter: between the works, between the viewer and each work, between the viewer and the self, between what can be formulated and what remains outside of language.<\/p>\n
And, perhaps most importantly: do not look for answers. Remain in the question.<\/p>\n
The exhibition 7 Structures for the Questions of Being will have its opening on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM, and can be visited until September 9, 2026.<\/p>\n
