On August 12, 2026, starting at 9:00 PM, we invite you to join us for \u201cPerseid Night\u201d and spend a summer evening together under the open sky at Gole\u0219ti Museum.<\/p>\n

The Perseids are one of the best-known and most spectacular astronomical phenomena of the year. Every summer, Earth passes through a cloud of particles left behind by Comet Swift\u2013Tuttle. When these particles enter Earth\u2019s atmosphere, they burn up and create bright streaks across the sky, popularly known as \u201cshooting stars.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event is organized in partnership with \u201cMatei Basarab\u201d Secondary School in Pite\u0219ti and its teaching staff, coordinated by Principal Elena Od\u0103: Deputy Principal M\u0103d\u0103lina Burcea, and teachers Ana Bo\u0219oag\u0103, Ileana Silveanu, and Lumini\u021ba Ilie.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, students from \u201cMatei Basarab\u201d Secondary School will present an artistic program inspired by the grandeur of the universe. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about the sky, the stars, and the fascinating meteor shower from members of the two astronomy projects carried out in Arge\u0219 County: Prive\u0219te Cerul, Rom\u00e2ne\u0219te! (\u201cLook at the Sky, Romanian Style!\u201d \u2013 Gole\u0219ti Museum) and ABCerul (Constantin C\u0103pit\u0103nescu School Astronomical Observatory).<\/p>\n
