During August 10\u201314, 2026, for the third consecutive year, the Gole\u0219ti Museum of Viticulture and Fruit Growing \u2013 Arge\u0219 organized the \u201cOina \u2013 a traditional Romanian game\u201d initiation camp, an activity that is part of the \u201cSummer vacation… in the countryside!\u201d educational program.<\/p>\n
The project aimed to promote oina – the traditional Romanian sport, to bring it out of the shadows, to make children aware of the fact that it represents a national symbol, and at the same time to increase respect for the intangible cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

Over 50 children from Bucharest were present during the first two days of the camp, accompanied by the president of the Parents’ Association of the \u201cLiviu Rebreanu\u201d Junior High School, Mihai Cristian Branischi. Also, among the participants were children from \u0218tef\u0103ne\u0219ti, Arge\u0219, from the Republic of Moldova and from Italy.<\/p>\n
Gheorghe Stoica, coach at the Olimpii \u021ai\u021be\u0219ti Sports Club in Arge\u0219, together with Victor Popa, representative of the Parents’ Association of the “Liviu Rebreanu” Junior High School, initiated the participants into the secrets of this sport.<\/p>\n
Through such events, oina is brought from the museum to the community, where the story of our national sport can be passed on to new generations.<\/p>\n
The activities dedicated to oina at the Gole\u0219ti Museum will continue\u2026 in October. Soon, the invitation will be launched for the reunion of the oina centers in Arge\u0219 within the framework of a new event that will be hosted by the Gole\u0219ti Museum and generically titled “Cupa V\u0103ilor”.<\/p>\n
