C\u0103l\u0103toria lui Carol Davila la Gole\u0219ti, \u00een martie 1861<\/h2>\n
\n

\u00cen 1861, o t\u00e2n\u0103r\u0103 fat\u0103 frumoas\u0103 cu ochii mari \u0219i negri \u00ee\u0219i a\u0219tepta viitorul so\u021b. Nu se \u00eendoie\u0219te de iubirea lui, dar nu crede c\u0103 va ajunge chiar \u00een ziua de Bun\u0103vestire a\u0219a cum o anun\u021base prin scrisoare, pentru c\u0103 o c\u0103l\u0103torie pe drumurile Rom\u00e2niei de atunci era o aventur\u0103. Dup\u0103 orice avers\u0103 de ploaie, tr\u0103surile se blocau \u00een noroi sau se opreau la marginea r\u00e2urilor pentru a a\u0219tepta sc\u0103derea apelor. Doar c\u0103 cel care \u00eenfrunta apele rev\u0103rsate era neobositul doctor Carol Davila, iar pe el obstacolele nu-l descurajau, ci \u00eel f\u0103ceau s\u0103 fie tot mai determinat \u0219i mai activ.<\/p>\n

\u201eExact o asemenea piedic\u0103 \u00eent\u00e2mpin\u0103 \u00een prim\u0103vara lui 1861 doctorul Davila care trebuie s\u0103 ajung\u0103 din Moldova la Gole\u015fti, unde \u00eel a\u015fteapt\u0103 Ana Racovi\u0163\u0103 la dat\u0103 fix\u0103, de Bunavestire. R\u00e2urile se rev\u0103rsaser\u0103, trecerea din Moldova \u00een Muntenia e \u00eempiedicat\u0103, iar \u00eent\u00e2lnirea din 25 martie e aproape imposibil\u0103. \u00cen ajun, la Gole\u015fti, logodnica \u015fi unchiul ei Nicolae, suflet afin cu al doctorului, dezbat problema: \u201eAnico, s\u0103 aibi grij\u0103 s\u0103 te de\u015ftep\u0163i de diminea\u0163\u0103 m\u00e2ine, c\u0103 s\u0103 \u015ftii c\u0103 Davila o s\u0103 soseasc\u0103, zice unchiul”. \u201eIa las\u0103, nene Niculae, spune fata, ce vrei s\u0103 vie \u00een zbor?”. \u201eDe, nu s\u0103 \u015ftie cu fran\u0163uzu acela, \u015ftiu eu ce-o s\u0103 n\u0103scoceasc\u0103?”. Piedica din drumul doctorului a ap\u0103rut la r\u00e2ul Buz\u0103u, ie\u015fit din albie, pe care nici o diligen\u0163\u0103 nu risc\u0103 s\u0103-l treac\u0103. Davila convinge surugiii s\u0103 \u00eencerce totu\u015fi. Povestea spune c\u0103, intra\u0163i \u00een \u015fuvoi, surugiii au v\u0103zut c\u0103 h\u0103\u0163urile st\u00e2njenesc mi\u015fc\u0103rile cailor, astfel c\u0103 sunt cu to\u0163ii pe punctul de a fi lua\u0163i de ape. Surugiii taie h\u0103\u0163urile, se aga\u0163\u0103 de coamele \u015fi de cozile cailor \u015fi ajung cu chiu cu vai pe partea cealalt\u0103. Davila, bun \u00eenot\u0103tor, ajunge \u015fi el la \u0163\u0103rmul opus \u015fi d\u0103 acolo peste ni\u015fte \u0163igani care se \u00eenc\u0103lzesc la foc. Episcopul Buz\u0103ului, Melchisedek, l-a g\u0103sit pe doctor gol-golu\u0163 printre \u0163igani, c\u0103ci \u00ee\u015fi usca hainele la foc, l-a luat \u00een tr\u0103sur\u0103, i-a dat \u015fuba lui \u015fi l-a dus la Buz\u0103u. F\u0103r\u0103 s\u0103-\u015fi permit\u0103 un minut de odihn\u0103, doctorul \u015fi-a procurat haine \u015fi tr\u0103sur\u0103 \u015fi a pornit, \u00een goan\u0103, mai departe. La 8 diminea\u0163a, la soroc, bate la u\u015fa logodnicei spun\u00e2ndu-i: \u201eBun\u0103 ziua, e\u015fti gata?” De pe teras\u0103, vocea experien\u0163ei unuia dintre fra\u0163ii Gole\u015fti \u00eei strig\u0103 nepoatei ne\u00eencrez\u0103toare: \u201eDe, nu \u0163i-am spus io c-o s\u0103 vie?”.<\/p>\n

\u0218i de aici povestea lor a continuat, cu fericire, cu copii, cu griji, cu responsabilit\u0103\u021bi p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 1874.<\/p>\n
