Batiste cu monogram\u0103, din m\u0103tase fin\u0103, batiste brodate sau simple, dup\u0103 putin\u0163a financiar\u0103 a fiec\u0103ruia, dar \u2026 batiste. \u00cen batiste de ascundea str\u0103nutul, parfumul doamnelor sau vreo urm\u0103 cu ruj l\u0103sat\u0103 mai mult sau mai pu\u0163in inten\u0163ionat de vreo domni\u0163\u0103 pe obrazul sau g\u00e2tul domnilor. P\u0103rea c\u0103 batista era obiectul nelipsit din po\u015fetele sau buzunarele europenilor. La Paris \u00eens\u0103, \u00een anul 1930, s-a iscat o adev\u0103rat\u0103 revolt\u0103 la adresa batistei. \u201eJos batista ! Nu ne trebuie batista!\u201d \u2013 strigau parizienii porni\u0163i asupra micului obiect bun la toate. Parizienii aflaser\u0103 c\u0103 japonezii \u015fi chinezii foloseau batiste de h\u00e2rtie de unic\u0103 folosin\u0163\u0103 \u015fi au descoperit brusc faptul c\u0103 urmele l\u0103sate de str\u0103nuturi, unele pline de virusuri de grip\u0103 sau viroze, r\u0103m\u00e2n pentru prea mult timp \u00een buzunar sau po\u015fet\u0103. A\u015fa c\u0103 la Paris a luat fiin\u0163\u0103 \u201eLiga francez\u0103 contra \u00eentrebuin\u0163\u0103rii batistei&#8221; .
