“Look at the sky, like a Romanian!”
At Pitești Retail Park, we celebrate what brings us together: exhibitions and creative workshops!
The shopping center organizes, in partnership with the Argeș Ghid mobile application, a series of events for all ages.
In the first week of June, we invite you to participate in ethnoastronomy workshops and astronomical observations, activities that are part of the “Look at the sky, like a Romanian!” Project.
The project strengthens the identity component of the younger generation, connecting it with old traditions and providing information on how we can effectively manage natural resources, how we can correlate the traditional astronomical calendar with the rediscovery of traditional activities and the reuse of old, ecological and minimally invasive techniques for the natural environment.

June 1-7, “Look at the sky, like a Romanian!” – telescope exhibition
June 1, 1:00 PM – astronomy workshop
June 6, 8:00 PM – astronomy workshop and sky-gazing session
Participants will discover the Romanian peasant’s conception of the universe, the myths and stories through which our ancestors explained the existence and influence of the stars in their daily lives. These will be followed by direct astronomical observations using specific equipment: sundial, sextant, compass, sky maps, telescopes.
The event is organized with the support of the Argeș County Council, through the “Dinicu Golescu” Argeș County Library and the Golești Museum.
