In the courtyard of the mansion, the ban Radu Golescu arranged a place where the sick and elderly to be cared for. In his will from 1815, he gave the income of three mills, a vineyard and a bridge over Arges River for the maintenance of the infirmary and the ailing people. Throughout his history, the Golescu family showed a special concern to the people who lived in their estates. They were severe but good masters, showing compassion for the peasants who lived and worked on their estates. The ladies in the Golescu family always took care of the poor or sick children, and the women who needed help. During the wars of the 19th and the 20th century, the Golescu ladies were always volunteers in military hospitals, taking care of the wounded and organizing public collections. People who lived and worked for the Romanian nation … people who are today models for us!
