The year 2025 has been declared the National Year of the Child – a special opportunity to celebrate childhood through activities that bring joy, promote health, and foster authentic connections with our cultural values.
Oină, the traditional Romanian sport, is more than just a game: it is a living form of heritage, an expression of teamwork, coordination, and the joy of being together. Its dynamic nature, simple rules, and competitive spirit make it an ideal activity for children – a healthy, fun, and educational alternative to screen time.
Between August 4th and 8th, 2025, the Golești Museum invites you to take part in the program “Oină – A Traditional Romanian Game”, coordinated by Mr. Victor Popa.
The activities of this sports workshop will begin at 9:00 AM.
Please make sure your children are protected from the sun (SPF creams, hat/cap) and properly hydrated.
Through oină, childhood gains the taste of outdoor movement, team play, and a sense of belonging to an authentic Romanian tradition.
