On September 27, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM, Retromobil Club Argeș is organizing a gathering dedicated to vintage automobiles in the parking lot of the Golești Viticulture and Fruit Growing Museum, under the auspices of the “Argeș and Mușcel Celebrations.” Approximately 30 cars from the 1960s and 1970s are expected to attend; the public will have the opportunity to discover their stories and technical specifications through conversations with their owners.
The program also includes presentations by specialists and former employees who were involved in the early days of Dacia automobile production.
The gathering takes place during the year marking the bicentennial of the conclusion of Dinicu Golescu’s travels across Europe. For this scholar, travel meant more than simply covering distances; it was a way to get to know other societies, understand customs, and bring home useful ideas. Later, the automobile expanded the possibilities for exploration, offering people the freedom to choose their own routes, reach less accessible locations, and discover the lives of other communities firsthand.
