The Golești Museum of Viticulture and Fruit Growing participates in the “Night of Museums” event, Saturday, May 23, 2026 with a special program between 5:00 PM and 12:00 PM (last admission at 11:30 PM), with the caveat that the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum will be open until 8:00 PM.

During this time, visitors will discover both our permanent exhibitions (the mansion, the Public Free School, Tudor Vladimirescu’s gazebo, the Golești History Section, the open-air ethnographic museum, and the temporary ones: the exhibition of the International Painting Competition “Stories Around Us – about people, animals and plants”; the painting exhibition entitled “Solar Manuscripts”, belonging to the artist couple Brîndusa Bontea and Radu Florea; the exhibition “In Hoc Signo Vinces”, signed by the artist Nicu Dumitrescu and the exhibition “Maria Tănase-Romanian Soul” carried out in partnership with the Museum of Oltenia (Craiova).

The Golești Viticulture and Fruit Growing Museum, in partnership with the “HISTORIA RENASCITA” Cultural Association, offers you a journey into the past with stories about heroism, courage and the arnaut costume specific to the Phanariot period.

The museum volunteers, students of the “Zinca Golescu” College in Pitești, will provide guidance in the elegant atmosphere of the mansion and will reveal to visitors of all ages information about the exhibition that reproduces fragments of the history of the Golescu family through personal objects that have withstood time and times.

Film lovers can watch “The Iron Crown: Under Fire and Hope” – a historical drama that presented the sacrifice of Queen Maria during the First World War. It was made by the Scriptless Crew team, which includes students of the “Ion Cantacuzino” high schools in Pitești and “Iulia Zamfirescu” high schools in Mioveni, as well as students of the Acting Department of the University of Pitești, who will be present at the event dressed in period costumes.

The visiting public of all ages will be invited to participate in ethnoastronomy workshops and astronomical observations, activities that are part of the “Look, the Romanian sky!” project.

Admission is free during event.
