
Golești Museum invites the public on Friday, 23 January 2026, starting at 12:30 p.m., to attend a commemorative symposium marking 167 years since the Union of the Romanian Principalities – Moldavia and Wallachia. The event will take place in the Conference Hall of the Golești Manor, a venue of outstanding historical significance.
The symposium aims to highlight the importance of the 1859 Union through a diverse program with educational, cultural, and commemorative components, addressed to the general public, history enthusiasts, and specialists alike.
The event agenda includes:

the screening of the educational film “Behind the Scenes of the Union: Between Love and Betrayal”;

the presentation “The Romanian Army and the Union”, delivered by members of the “Argeș County Organization” BASARABI Association of Reserve and Retired Military Personnel;

a recital by the “Mihai Viteazul” Veterans’ Choir of Pitești;

the traditional Hora of the Union, to be performed in front of the manor.
Organized under the aegis of the Argeș County Council, the event is part of the series of cultural activities dedicated to the Day of the Union of the Romanian Principalities, reaffirming the role of the Golești Museum as a space for cultural dialogue and the promotion of national history.
