This year we are celebrating the 14th edition of the international painting contest for children. Thank
you for your trust and your interest in traditions and customs. 630 paintings from 21 countries around the
world were received by the Golesti Museum, of which the jury selected 45 paintings, considered the most
beautiful and with ethnographic meaning. We have to tell you that your work is appreciated and it is not
just about the exhibition that we organize with the award-winning paintings and the catalog. The other
paintings, which we consider as beautiful as the winning ones, are being valued by the Golesti Museum.
Thus, every year, about 500 paintings are exhibited in other museums and schools in Romania, to make
your creations known to as many children as possible. This year, many paintings, about 400, will go to
children’s hospitals, foster homes, schools, lyceums where they will bring joy to the Romanian children.
Your work is also used in the thematic visits organized by the Golesti Museum, with Romanian children, to
present and teach them about the traditions and customs of your own countries.
