On October 11, 2024, at the headquarters of the Golești Museum, the opening of the exhibition In the park the brass band sang, in the presence of painters, members of the Association of Visual Arts “I. D. Negulici”, and to a large audience from the Câmpulung Seniors Association.
After the welcome speech by Mr. Gerard Călin, head of the Air-Liber section and curator of the exhibition, Mr. Nicolae-Alexandru Mihailă, President of the Association of Seniors from Câmpulung, and Mrs. Carmen Koszorus, vice-president of the Association of Visual Arts “I.D. Negulici” spoke.
Mr. Mihăilă, who is also a painter and a member of the I. D. Negulici Association, made a foray into the history of this group, with a history of about 50 years, of talented people dedicated to culture, who, despite the hard times, kept the passion for art alive.
Mrs. Carmen Koszorus reminded the public the most significant moments in the secular history of the city of Câmpulung. A historic city where education and culture have been valued and cultivated over the centuries, an active and dynamic urban center, a real magnet for the residents of the old Mușcel county. Mrs. Claudia Filipescu, vice-president of the I. D. Negulici Association, also evoked beautiful moments from the life in the city: walks in the “Merci” park and on the “Pardon” boulevard, photo sessions, delicious cakes and ice creams…
Mr. Narcis Iustin Dejanu, manager of the Golești Museum, evoked, in his speech, the historical importance and cultural value of this center of urban life which is the city of Câmpulung and appreciated the activity of the painting school here, comparing it with that of the from Barbizon.
The event continued with a poetry recital by Mrs. Maria Chirtoacă, the lyrics full of sensitivity and nostalgia deeply moving the audience.
At the end, the painter Alexandru Marinescu, the honorary president of the Visual Arts Association “I.D. Negulici”, spoke, and Mrs. Claudia Filipescu performed a very beautiful song from Muscel area.
