On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the painting exhibition titled ‘Family as an artistic expression in personal creation’, belonging to the plastic artist Maria Magdalena Pătrășcan, will be opened in the Contemporary Art Hall of the Golești Museum.
She was born on July 26, 1977, in Pitesti. In 1996 she graduated from the Dinu Lipatti Art High School in Pitesti, majoring in Decorative Arts, in 2001 from the Faculty of Arts and Design, within the University of West Timișoara, majoring in Art Pedagogy, and is currently a doctoral student in the same faculty.
She was a teacher of Plastic Education at several educational institutions and currently teaches at the Children’s Palace in Pitesti. She has had a passion for painting since childhood, his first mentor being Gheorghe Dobrica, the President of UAP Pitesti.
She participated in more than 35 group exhibitions, in the country and abroad, and has a personal exhibition entitled Jurnal de Familie, at the Park Art Gallery, Timișoara. The present exhibition evokes a mysterious family bond, a subtle kaleidoscopic balance of forces, which thus becomes a conceptual route with a maternal-paternal structuring role.
About the exhibition presented in Golești, the critic Gabriel Kelemen states: “The works firmly evoke the synergistic, close relationship between the theoretical architecture of the exhibition and the technical empiricism that glides symbiotically fecund into the painting/collage techniques, where the attentive and original polychrome orchestration evokes identity configurations absconse, solidly anchored in the magma of the ineffable maternal archetype, thus seen as the Mnesic germinal matrix”.
The exhibition can be visited until November 17, 2024. We are waiting for you!
Curator: museographer Nicoleta Popa Grigore.
