Marriage includes a large number of characters in its ceremony, but it would not be a wedding without a bride and groom. The costumes that they wear, at the great moment of their lives, represented, in the Romanian village of a century ago, the social status, the ethnographic area from which they came, the purity of thoughts, the physical and spiritual cleanliness and, last but not least, the hope and humility with which they presented themselves before God to receive the Holy Sacrament of marriage.
A small part of this rural universe can be visited at the Golești Museum through an exceptional exhibition: “Traditional wedding costumes from Argeș – brides and grooms”.
