Pentecost is a Christian holiday celebrated on the fiftieth day after Easter, which is always a Sunday. Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus of Nazareth.
On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit is given to the Church as a whole and to each individual Christian. The descent of the Holy Spirit actually means the outpouring of divine love upon us.
