
Dear literature enthusiasts,
On Friday, March 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM, the annual event International Poetry Day at the Golești Manor will take place at the Golești Museum. This cultural activity brings together great poets from across the Romanian cultural space.
Now in its seventh edition, this year’s event will feature as a special guest the ’80s-generation poet Romulus Brâncoveanu.
Artists and cultural figures from Romania and Basarabia will be present, including: Catia Maxim, Adrian Cioroianu, Liviu Mățăuanu, George Badea, Liliana Rus, Angi Melania Cristea, Alexandra Niculae, Marius Burhan, Carmen Secere, Daniel Pișcu, Vitalie Colț, Dragoș Popescu, and Cornel Carp.
The event will include:
- Presentation of the special guest
- Public readings
- Debates on the readings
- Musical interludes by Vitalie Colț
About the special guest – Romulus Brâncoveanu
Romulus Brâncoveanu was born on February 4, 1957, in Conțești, Teleorman County. He studied philosophy and history at the University of Bucharest, where he later became a professor of political philosophy and dean of the Faculty of Philosophy. He has published numerous scholarly articles and books and is the editor-in-chief of the international journal of political and moral philosophy, Public Reason.
As a poet, he made his debut in 1974 in Luceafărul magazine and published his first poetry volume in 1982. His poetry collections include The Second Life of D.Q. (1991), Reply (2021), Estimp (2023), and Noica’s Shadow at Densuș (2023). Literary critics describe him as a poet with a great imaginative force, a discursive writing style, and a complex poetic vision.

- From Bucharest: The Bucharest–Pitești train, which runs every hour and also stops at Golești Station
