From 2018 until today, Mrs. Predica has built a rich and varied artistic CV. She participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, painting camps, competitions, national salons and charity exhibitions. In 2020 and 2023, the artist presented herself to the Pitesti public, at the “Dinicu Golescu” County Library, with personal exhibitions of oil paintings on canvas and watercolors. The exhibition at the Golești Museum will be the third personal exhibition of Mrs. Predică, through which she explores a new artistic dimension and techniques specific to a noble art.

The works that will be present on the screens of our museum are inspired by Medieval Manuscripts from art albums such as Masterpieces of Illumination, Western Illuminated and Illuminated Manuscripts.

A miniature (from the Latin “minium”, meaning “red lead”, which was used as a pigment for the paint used in the process of making paintings) is a painting or drawing, executed by hand, that decorates ancient and medieval manuscripts, as well as a ornate letter that adorns the title or beginnings of chapters in old manuscripts or incunabula.

These ornamental motifs or figurative compositions were made in water colors, gold dust, etc. and is characterized by compositions with a solemn character, of a cold synthesis, by treating the figures according to an ancient canon, full of grandeur.

We are waiting for you at the Golești Museum, starting from November 15, to admire medieval manuscript miniatures.
